Johnny Boaden, 61, has been working out
with the Club for 10 months. The picture above was taken little over a year
ago when Johnny was weighing in around 299. He has worked
full-time as a maintenance supervisor for many years and just didn't have
the energy to workout or to dedicate a hour a day for personal physical
improvement.
However, beginning in January of 2006, Boaden began his own exercise program and diet
that, during the following 8 months, resulted in a 20 pound weight loss.
"It's hard to stay encouraged and consistent when you're trying to lose
weight by yourself. Excuses to quit or slip back come easy",
Johnny recently commented.
After 8 months of working his exercise
and diet program by himself, Johnny joined Newton Gym & Boxing Club and following
just 8 months of working out 4 days
a week, he has lost an
additional 45 pounds! His blood pressure has returned to normal levels and
he has more energy. The picture above was taken in February, 2007 ...
just 5 months in the program. He has lost several pant sizes and just
feels great.
Johnny's goal is to hit the scale at 200 pounds by year end 2007. As
of September of 2007, he weighed in at 236. The
coaches believe he will achieve his 200 pound goal by year's end simply because he is dedicated, consistent and enjoys the atmosphere at the
Club. Johnny does several rounds
of jump rope, resistance training with weights at various work stations and
will even work the mitts with a coach in the ring. Combining anaerobic
and aerobic training, without a doubt he's improving his body health!
We are proud of Johnny Boaden and he is proof that with the proper
environment and support you can get healthier, increase your stamina and
energy and look better too!
